Hello Everyone!

First off, I have about 50 of you on the mailing list now and I am not sure if everyone gets the updates, so please if you would like to stay on the mailing list please reply to this message and I will keep you on, if you no longer wish to get updates no worries.  I will give everyone two weeks to respond because I know we are all busy with our own things :)

Okay, we are changing up the litter plan a tad bit, we are moving Love X Fergus to December and bringing up Moka X Seraph litter to November.  Love is still pretty small so we would like to give her some more time to grow.  I will be giving her some extra protien as well to make sure she's getting enough.

LittersWe have a few planned litters for the next few months to help further the Madison's branch lines and to start the Frankfort branch lines so if you are looking to add some ratties or an additional ratty or two to your home check out what we have coming up :)

We have two females and two males still available from Athena and Atticus' litter.  They are adorable so please check them out and pass on the word.
Merchandise
Okay so I have the merchandise page, and I have not had any sales there yet, that page is to help support the rattery so we can become self sufficient.  I have had it up for a while and I would love if everyone would be wiling to check it out and see if there are things I should change to make it better and help people want to purchase.  We do have shirts and soon hoodies and I don't want to put money into too many if we are not going to be selling them.  So please let me know what you think your opinions are important to us.

Pricing Changes
It has not happened yet but we are considering having all males that leave the rattery be neutered if they are going to pet only homes.  That secures our lines and helps prevent accidental litters, health problems and allows boys to be adopted with girls :)  If we do this all male adoptions will be 40$ each to cover the neuter and adoption fee.  The females will stay at the pricing we have on the page which is 20$ for the first and 15$ for each additional.

Breeder Rights
We are working on making our lines stronger and focusing more on our goals now that we have a system going.  We will require any breeders to sign a contract with us stating if you get a rat from LOR we get second pick to ANY litter that rat produces, and the rest of the pups will got to PET homes only until the 3rd generation and then you can sell/swap with other breeders from that generation and on.  If the terms of the contract we will have up are violated we will cut all ties with your rattery.  We have the right to turn down any rattery we wish when they are looking for breeders, we will have some requirements and we can discuss for each rattery as the time comes.

Pet Adoptions
I will become more strict about having our adopters keep in touch with us, we will start requiring updates, I don't mean you have to email me every day with a new picture, but we do need to know if you have ANY problems health or other wise with your rats, we need to know temperament changes, health issues, and deaths.  We will require an update every 6 months where you can just let us know how they are doing and maybe attach some pictures.  We would love to see some of the past rats of LOR and how they have grown.
Okay I think this is all for now, thank you for your continued support and we appreciate the donations we have received they have helped us with food and bedding when money is tight.  Can't wait to hear back from you :)  Please also feel free to give us your options about our page, our merging, pricing, policies, anything that we should be aware of and maybe what you'd like to see on the site that always helps us when we know what you are looking for and whats eye grabbing :)

For those of you who don't know, I am now working a full and part time job, so I have been very busy lately working 7 days a week and have asked Fallen Star Rattery if she would like to join me at LOR and expand the rattery.  So we now have TWO branches, one here in Madison, Indiana and one in Frankfort, Kentucky.  We are consolidating to one website as well as combining stock.  We will however still be focusing on our own goals.

I have updated a blog on the site about these recent changes.  Please feel free to check it out and leave comments if you'd like to.  I always love getting feedback :)

As for updates, Athena had her litter of 13 babies on Monday the 26th of September.  Unfortunately it looks like the majority of the babies will be black and or agoutis.  But the keeper for the rattery will help continue our goal for American Blues.  Please remember to check out or planned and current litter pages to see if there are any litters you would like to be added to a waiting list for.  They are filling up quickly!!

Also, Amanda and I are talking about having EVERY pet male here neutered that is adopted out.  That way we can decide who can breed our lines.  It is also a great things for these boys and that means we can adopt out males and females together :) The adoption fee for the males is not yet decided.  But once we can figure out new terms we will of course let everyone know.

Thank you so much for your continued support and remember Christmas is right around the corner don't forget to check out our Merchandise page for the cool things we have available.  We will also be doing hoodies here before long :)

Please feel free to email, text message, call or facebook with any questions or comments you might have :)

Some New Changes

Okay so there has been some things changing here in the rattey.

If you are following us on facebook then you already know about some of the changes to come.  If you didn't know where on facebook, well check us out, our group page is Love of Rats Rattery & Rescue we keep that updated as much as possible.

I have been working two jobs at 7 days a week.  I don't have a whole lot of time to sit down and work with the ratty things like I did.  So with this happening here I have decided to invite Fallen Stars Rattery to merge with LOR and become one rattery in two different areas as we can please twice as many adopters :)  So Amanda from Fallen Stars is now co-owner to Love of Rats and is taking on our name.

We will be both focusing on different lines and goals but we will be working together.  So the chances of us having something that you want will be much greater!

We are still figuring some things out on new policies and making up a look that we can both "fit into".

I have created a new email account so we can start fresh and we can both access the same stuff we will just be signing our names so you know who you are contacting with.

I am very happy to be announcing these changes and to be helping Amanda with her start into the rattery world.

RESCUES:
Don't think I forgot about the "Rescue" part of the rattery.  Right now while I am trying to figure out my end with working a lot I will NOT be taking in rescues for the time being.  I hope to  change that in the future but for now you can contact me and I will try to help you either place your ratty friends or find a rescue that can.

If you have any questions or comments please feel free to leave them here :)
