Good news both does gave birth today Katniss gave birth to 14 beautiful pups. However Love only had four and I believe she is done. They all four look to be hairless females and will most likely all be staying with me if they survive. It looks as tho she had a hard birth and two of the pups were having trouble breathing when I came in so I'm keeping a close eye on them. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused I wish I could predict how the litters would turn out.

Once the pups are two weeks old I will allow the adopters who are on the waiting list pick first in order than after that it will be first come first serve.  So please keep checking back often.

Okay I am thinking about changing things up a little bit on how I do my waiting lists.

I am thinking about not doing a waiting list period.  I will have potential adopters join this blog and our group on Facebook (Love of Rats Rattery) and once the pups are two weeks old I will update both places for adopters to make their picks.  Everything would be on first come first serve basis.  I think I will be doing this for my September litters to see how it goes.

I'd like to see which way works best for the rattery then decide from there.  Any thoughts or opinions?

Thanks!

What a crazy weekend we have had.  We were rained out of the Swap Meet yesterday what a bummer!  However we did give out lots of information and adopted out four ratties to some very lucky kids.

We still have spaces available on the spay/neuter transports, we have 4 male and 3 female spaces available in the Columbus Indiana area.  Please sign up if your interested!

Now that we are home and settling back in I have sent out emails to anyone who was waiting a response from me.  We are still waiting on Love and Katniss to gain some good weight to confirm pregnancy.  I have decided to keep the daddies in with the girls until they start to show.  If Love doesn't take by June I will not be attempting to breed her again.  I am getting a hairless carrier from Amanda and once she's older I will breed her with LOR Love's Perfect Gem.  Until then lets keep our fingers crossed!

We have three litters that are HERE!  Check out our current litter page for all the pictures and litter information.

We at the Madison branch have two females in breeding.  Love has not taken and is going to be in until visibly pregnant.  Katniss and Finnick were added on the 1st and hoping for babies at the end of May.  Both waiting list are currently open!

We do have some rescues available and we also have a few new changes to the website.  If you haven't noticed already we are now offering low cost spay and neuters for YOUR pet rats.  Please view the link provided for the details.  http://fortheloveofrats.weebly.com/spayneuter-transport.html

The Trimble County Swap Meet is coming up so quickly!  We will have our available rats out with us as well as our feed mix, possibly some cages to sell, and INFORMATION!!  We encourage everyone to come out if they are able.  This has been a work in progress every year and I hope to spread the word about our adorable intelligent little rat friends.  They always come first!

Thanks for reading and feel free to contact us!!
